There are a few shared areas across the site, for cooking, doing laundry, sitting out, or spending time together – all designed to work naturally alongside your own lodge
As well as everything you have within your lodge, the shared facilities expand your options. These are used by all six lodges, but spread out across the site.
Some guests use these spaces a lot; others barely at all. There’s no booking system or structure – just amenities that are there when you need them.
Kitchen & laundry
A practical space for everyday things
There’s a fully-equipped kitchen and small laundry on-site, set up to support the more basic facilities within the units themselves.
The kitchen gives you a bit of extra flexibility, whether that’s cooking something larger or more complex, or just having more space to work.
Washing machines and dryers are available to use, so you don’t need to plan around running out of clothes or towels.

Everything is clearly labelled so you can use the space without difficulty. You can also take utensils and equipment back to your lodge if you need something the lodge doesn’t have.

This space is also where the First Aid kit, spare poo bags, and other emergency essentials are kept.
The Garden
A shared garden at the heart of the site
The walled garden is arguably the greatest asset of the site. It’s a tranquil space that often gets a “wow, this is lovely” when guests walk in for the first time.
Each lodge has a private deck or patio area (or a fenced section of the garden, in the case of the Kennel), but the wider garden is shared across all the lodges, with space to sit, eat, play, or just spend time outside.

You might use it for a quiet coffee, or invite friends round for an afternoon of socialising around the barbecue.
There’s lots of space for families to play and for children to run around, and the summerhouse contains plenty of toys and games for them to enjoy.
People tend to use the garden at different times of day and there’s lots of space, so it never feels crowded.

Summerhouse and Extras
Useful things, ready to use
Beside the communal deck there’s a small shared summer house, full of things you’re welcome to use during your stay.
This is where the BBQs and firepit are kept, but it’s also home to deck chairs and additional outdoor tables (each lodge has its own as well), and a host of toys for families to enjoy.
It’s all set up to be informal, so you just take what you need, and return it when you’re done. For more on this, see Available to Borrow →

BBQs and firepit
Simple options for enjoying the outdoors
There are two electric barbecues available, which can either be used on the communal deck or taken to your unit for private use.
There’s also a firepit that can be brought out onto a heat-proof mat on the communal deck – perfect for staving off the chill as you enjoy the last of the evening sunlight.
Larger Groups
Works well for families staying together
We often have families or groups booking more than one lodge and using the shared spaces as somewhere to spend time together.
It means you can all be in one location without needing to fit into one space, and still come together easily when you want to.
The walled garden setting means you can allow the kids to run off and play together while the adults chill out by the BBQs without having to worry.

Everything is close by and set up so that you have everything you need, whether you want a simple stay or something more extravagant. You can use as much or as little of it as you want – it’s there to support your stay, not define it.
