Available to borrow

From outdoor games to practical extras, there’s a collection of shared items across the site that guests are free to use.

It’s all simple and informal – take what you need, return it when you’re done.

How it works

Although the lodges have all the basics, many more items are kept in shared areas around the site, with a few things available from reception, on request.

There’s no booking system – just a first-come, first-served approach that tends to work naturally between guests. There’s a board on the wall in the guest kitchen where you can write on what you’ve borrowed, so that we know where to find it, and so that other guests know who to ask if they need it.

Outdoor & garden extras

For time outside

If you feel like making more of the outdoor space, there are a few extras you can use:

BBQs, a firepit, plastic plates and cups (including champagne flutes and wine glasses) for outdoor use, and lots of toys and games for kids – all kept ready to use in the summerhouse.

You can keep it simple or make an evening of it.

Games, toys & things to do

Small things that make a difference

There’s a mix of games, books, and things to play with – from board games and jigsaws, to outdoor toys and children’s bikes.

Nothing formal, just a useful collection that’s there when you want it.

If you want to know what we have available for different age groups, please do feel free to ask.

Practical extras

The things you didn’t think to pack

A few practical extras are available if you need them – things like an iron, drying racks, fans, or spare toiletries left by previous guests.

There are also bits and pieces for everyday use, from extension leads to phone chargers.

It saves having to plan for everything in advance.

Family & baby items

Helpful extras for families

For younger guests, there are a few larger items available from reception, including cots, highchairs, walkers, and a baby bath.

There’s also toys suitable for small children.

It’s all available on a simple first-come basis.

Kitchen & cooking extras

Extra bits for cooking and eating

Alongside what’s already in your lodge, there are additional items you can borrow, from BBQ utensils and outdoor tablewear, to extra kitchen tools.

We also have a basket of non-perishable food items that guests have left, and you are welcome to help yourself to anything from this – useful when you realise you’ve forgotten to bring sugar, or could do with some mixed herbs!

These are great if you’re cooking for more people, or just want a bit more flexibility.

Pack less, settle in more easily (or at least find a solution to the things you left behind)

You don’t need to bring everything with you.

If something would make your stay easier, there’s a good chance it’s already here.
