A DIFFERENT KIND OF STAY IN CENTRAL SCOTLAND

Nestled in a historic walled garden, our six unique lodges offer you the best of both worlds: a peaceful retreat surrounded by mature trees and wildlife, with the convenience of urban amenities just moments away. Step through the entrance into our secluded garden, and you’ll cross into a surprising oasis of tranquility amid the hubbub of central Scotland. Whether you’re here to unwind, explore, or reconnect, you’ll find yourself ideally located: just half an hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow, and 20 minutes from Stirling.

Enjoy the serenity of our mature gardens, then head along the driveway and get back to exploring vibrant cities, scenic lochs, ancient castles, distilleries, beaches, and so much more – all within easy reach. With a supermarket five minutes’ walk away, and restaurants, takeaways, and transport links right on the doorstep, your stay will be as effortless as it is unforgettable.

At Heart of Scotland Holidays, your stay will also fund our social purpose. As a not-for-profit, every stay helps preserve our listed building and supports mental health initiatives, but our priority is your comfort and enjoyment. Your perfect Scottish escape starts here.

which lodge suits you?

All six of our lodges sleep four guests across two bedrooms, and each has a comfortable living space and its own individual character. Some are designed specifically for those travelling with cats, or dogs, some welcome any pets, and one offers a pet-free space for those with allergies.

The Treehouse

A unique space, where adventure meets comfort.
This whimsical, multi-level lodge features circular rooms at three different heights, connected by a central atrium. Kids love the bunk room and this imaginative space is also our dedicated pet-free option, ideal for allergy-sufferers.

The Kennel

A dog-friendly lodge with its own gated garden area.
Spacious living areas and flexible bedrooms that can be made up as either king-size or single beds, this lodge is designed especially for guests travelling with dogs – complete with thoughtful canine touches.

THE CAT CABIN

A rare beast – a holiday cabin designed with cats in mind.
The Cat Cabin features climbing posts, a rope bridge, and cozy nooks, as well as more practical touches like double-door entry to prevent escapes, and a screened litter-tray area, making this a playful, yet comfortable, retreat for feline travellers and their human companions alike.

The Bothy

Rustic charm meets modern comfort.
Step down into The Bothy, where the cute stone-and-slate frontage hides a soaring wood-clad interior. The circular living space is both cosy and spacious, and the pet-friendly policy ensures no one needs to be left behind. Quirky, and full of character – just like Scotland!

THE Boathouse

A light, spacious lodge with a nautical theme.
The Boathouse has one bedroom on the ground floor and another on a mezzanine overlooking the livingroom, both of which can be made up in either king-size or singles configuration. It’s our largest unit and very comfortable. Pets are welcome.

The Logstack

Sunshine in every corner.
The Logstack is our smallest lodge, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in personality. Clad in slices of logs on the outside, and with a bright and cheerful interior, this unit proves that you don’t need a lot of space to have a great holiday. The two bedrooms can be either king-size or singles, and the pet-friendly policy means your furry friends can join in the fun. Simple, sunny, and full of heart.

stays designed with pets in mind

Five of our six units welcome pets, and two are specifically designed for people travelling with pets: the Cat Cabin is designed for people travelling with cats, and features double-door entry to prevent escapes, climbing/scratching posts leading to high shelves, and plenty of feline-friendly touches, while the Kennel is designed for canine guests, with its own gated garden area. We also provide thoughtful extras like pet beds, blankets, toys, and treats to help your four-legged companions feel just as much at home as you do.

What Our Guests Say

We simply loved it and couldn’t fault a thing. We will definitely be back – it’s an absolute gem of a place!

Amy Shannon

Stayed for two nights in the dog accommodation. Perfect for what we required. Warm and comfortable and ideal for the local area.

Chris Overton

The hosts were so accommodating – I can’t remember the last time people made us feel so welcome. We took our cat with us and she had a brilliant time as our cabin was uniquely built around all the things she enjoys – hideouts and high-up spots.

I could not recommend here enough and will definitely be back.

Emma Swift

Just came back from a fantastic, relaxing holiday in Scotland thanks to Heart of Scotland Holidays! We stayed in the Logstack cabin with a beautiful view to the pond. Everything was just perfect! Heather’s hospitality goes beyond expectations – ready for anything we needed! Definitely going back and highly recommend to anyone that wants to have a wonderful time!

Rosella Steri

Absolutely love this place. This is the second time we have visited the site. 1st time we stayed in the Logstack, this time we stayed in the Bothy. We absolutely loved them both! There is everything you could possibly need and more!! Heather and Matt are such a lovely welcoming couple who work so hard to maintain the site to an exceptionally high standard. The cabins are spotless and the beds are really comfortable. Would like to say a huge thank you for making us so welcome. We will be back

Liz P

The accommodation was everything we hoped for: clean, cosy, and perfectly situated. The central garden was a peaceful shared space that added much charm and made the whole place feel open and welcoming.

Myrdin R.

What a magical place – next to SO much for the kids but hidden away like the magical faraway tree – highly recommend this place! Heather was amazingly accommodating – thanks so much

Anna

We stayed in the Treehouse and felt welcome and comfortable. It was a great base for trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Falkirk and then a peaceful retreat to rest overnight. We enjoyed walking in the woods nearby and the shops and takeaways were an easy walk away. Heather and Matt were friendly and helpful and the accommodation had everything we needed. Thank you for a lovely stay!
